As a singer songwriter and a fan I have a unique perspective when I see a musical performance. Mostly I am trying to learn from what I am watching but in a few cases I’m so captivated by the sound I just get lost in what the artists are doing. I use the word artist as I found that when a talented musician can take time and sound they can paint a picture that you find yourself completely entranced by. Like when you are appreciating a masterpiece in a gallery what is being presented to you evokes emotion. Music can make you sing, dance, laugh or cry. There is no better venue to experience the art of music then the Strings Music Festival.
Located at the corner of Pine Grove Road and Mount Werner Road this world renowned 569-seat Strings Music Pavilion bellows it incredible sound to the mountain tops. With several restaurants nearby it is easy to create an incredible evening out when visiting this venue. As a supporter of the arts in Steamboat Springs they sponsor a Music on the Green series. This is a very unique reoccurring event through the summer. This features a variety of classical and local musicians performing at Yampa River Botanic Garden. Best place around to picnic in the summer time in Steamboat Springs. This organization also does fantastic education outreach programs for anyone age 2 to 90. These provide individuals exposure to musicals styles they may not encounter usually. As well as the chance to learn from some of the world’s best musicians.
This summer’s lineup at the Music Pavilion includes some big headliners and a great mix of classical, contemporary, jazz, country and rock n roll. I am personally very excited for several of these amazing shows. Here is a list to check out.
